Homeward bound. Pennsylvania to Texas is a little over 1200 miles, so about 3 travel days in motorhome. In deciding a route home, I thought Dad might enough visiting the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. I had in 2016 and knew that the perfect RV Park is just across the river from the Library. We just needed a stopping point between Ohiopyle and Little Rock. Rain was expected, so a couple day layover while it rained would work well. We stopped in Kentucky, then travelled down to Little Rock.

The architecture of the Library is interesting. It is built next to the river and sort of protrudes out as though stretching to cross the river. Clad in glass and metal, the building’s bold cantilevered form emphasizes connections and is both a reference to Little Rock’s distinctive “Six Bridges” and a metaphor for the President’s progressive ideals, as noted by the building’s architects. The adjacent Rock Island Railroad Bridge has now been repurposed as a pedestrian bridge connecting to North Little Rock. In my photo from the bridge, one can see the RV Park across the river, which has direct access to walk over to the Library and adjacent parks. A little bonus is the bridge’s light show at night.

We just missed an exhibition at the Library called “Washed Ashore – Art to Save the Sea”. It would have been very interesting and informative. The pieces of art were made from, as it states, items retrieved from trash washed ashore. The only piece I could photograph is the large fish that was on display outside the Library. I have zoomed in on it – look closely to identify the various objects used to make the piece.
