Dedicated to My Dad

It’s not often that a grown-up little girl gets to spend extended, quality time with her Dad. I am fortunate beyond measure. It was awesome and so very special.

Dad has always been bigger than life for me. My hero. The man that is so instrumental to who I am today. I have been eternally blessed to have had all these years of his devotion, attention and guidance.

So, this trip was a nostalgic one for him and one for new adventures for me. Dad and Nita had travelled to the New England region a couple times for the turning of the leaves. The opportunity to make the trip again with me is something I will always remember for the priceless memories made.

Dad may be 93 years young, but that doesn’t stop him for getting up and going. He may walk a bit slower, but he is a trooper and still raring to do and go. I can only hope to have his vim and vigor when I am his age!!

As a kid, the family always had a road trip in the summer. I recall as a little girl sleeping in the back seat with my sister (before we had a little brother), with comments about needing to sit up and look out the windows! Geez, look at all this you don’t see at home. So, I believe I come by the travel bug quite honestly from these travels. I also remember being a bit older and reading the paper maps to see where we were going.

Well, Dad still loves his paper maps! While Google Maps and the Nav system are wonders of new, there still is a lot to be said for a plain ole paper map. So, as we were traveling Dad was keeping up with and helping me stay on the trail.

We had a great trip! Learned a lot about each other we may not have really known and experienced before. One comment from Dad . . .  I am picky! Well, that will not come as a huge surprise to most of you!!

Memories, memories.

Thank you, Dad

Love you beyond measure.

Your little girl, always.
