We arrived in Jersey City across the Hudson from Manhattan and almost directly across from the World Trade Center and Battery Park area. Having been to New York several times prior to 911 it is quite a different sky line. One can’t be here without feeling the overwhelming sadness associated with that horrible day. Can’t even begin to truly imagine how all those directly affected, even though survivors, made it through that day much less all the years since. We all know where we were that day and our children will learn of it much as we learned of Pearl Harbor. It was a very long day and definitely worth every minute we spent there.

While there we had wonderful views from the Jersey side of the Hudson of the Manhattan Skyline and the Statute of Liberty.

In Jersey City, which is directly across from the World Trade Center, a Memorial Plaque is placed. The photo below shows a photo of the shoor across the river at 8:45 a.m. on 9-11-2001. The second photo shows the skyline now (the black shape is the plaque from first photo)
Another Memorial in Liberty State Park, the entrance to Ellis Island and the Statute of Liberty, is called the “Empty Sky: New Jersey September 11th Memorial”. An exquisite representation in art.
